Hidden Beach in Vasai, Merces/Bena Beach, Raangaon, Vasai ( West)

If you are in Vasai and love sandy beaches, then the Merces beach is the place to visit.


Vasai is blessed with a number of pristine spots worth visiting. Some of the best sandy beaches are located in Vasai-Virar Municipal area. The Merces/Bena Beach is one of them. It is situated in a secluded village of Raangaon and is motorable up to Merces village. One will have to walk about 300 metres to reach here.


It is a good place to spend some quiet time with no disturbance from vendors, hawkers, horse-cart ride was or beggars. The right time to visit is the early morning and evening. The beautiful unhindered sunset in the evening will definitely raise your mood. Your evening with the Nature consisting of sandy beach, soothing breeze, Suru or Casuarina and coconut trees, mangroves, colourful sky and the gentle waves will enhance your spirit. The cool and gentle people around you will be seen walking or enjoying by wetting their feet in the gentle waves. In the evenings, the youngsters of this area are seen play cricket and football at the flat sands of this beach.




Location:

Raangaon, Vasai (West).

About 6 km from Vasai Railway Station (west).

The easiest route to follow is the lane opposite from the Papdi market which leads to the Holi market.


Mode of transport:

One can reach this beach using a car, auto-rickshaw, minibus or a two-wheeler. The approach roads near the beach are quite narrow.


When to visit?:

Any time of the year, though avoid visiting during the monsoon.


What to carry?:

On the way, near Holi market, you can buy the snacks, fruits, confectionery and packaged water. ( consumption of alcohol is prohibited on public beaches). One thing to keep in mind is Not To Litter at the beach. Carry back the refuse to put in a dustbin on the way back.
