Pandemic/ COVID Travel Essentials

Man is a wandering creature. Our ancient forefathers were nomads. It is said that the prehistoric man migrated from Africa to Europe and from Europe to Asia. So, travel is in our genes.

With the given unprecedented condition of a worldwide pandemic, we are forced to live indoors. Social distancing is a must. It is a do or die situation. Do your best to be restricted within the four walls of your house or brave out to contract Coronavirus. Lockdown is real and we have to comply.

Therefore travel is to be religiously avoided. With the partial lockdown, the buses and the trains are plying for only necessary work. Remember, there should be no compromise during these days.

Now the question is, what precautions do we take while traveling? The following are some suggestions:


1. Mask

At any cost wear the best quality mask. You may feel uneasy or a bit suffocating, but you have to wear it in all the crowded areas. In open areas, you may allow your nose to breathe freely. Make sure you don


2. Sanitizer

Keep a vial of sanitizer in your bag. Use it every time you enter a new place. It has become mandatory for shops and malls to place a bottle of sanitizer at the entrance. Now it comes with a foot-use machine. If there is a provision for hand wash, then wash hands for 20 seconds. Avoid touching your nose and ears.


3. Thermometer

At the entrance, you will find a guard holding a digital thermometer. Allow him to aim it on your forehead. It is like your entry coupon. Thank him gently and move ahead. You can even carry a personal thermometer to keep a check on your temperature. This way the moment you feel something is wrong you can take desired steps to avoid contact with people & quarantine yourself till you are 100 % sure.


4. Immunity boosting foods:

There are a lot of WhatsApp videos regarding immunity-boosting foods. Eat wisely and moderately to boost your immunity. Food plays a vital role in our health and fitness too. There is no real need for vitamin supplements unless prescribed by your doctor. If your immunity is strong, then venturing out is less risky.

This will promote fitness and help immunity too. It will make life feel good. Remember, when you are physically fit, then traveling is a joy. You can begin your morning routine with some breathing exercises that keep your airway healthy.


6. Don't overpack

There is a maxim which says 'travel light to travel fast'. Do away with all the unwanted burden. Travel comfortably and without bothering about the loads that otherwise carry.


7. Gadgets

In such situations, I'm sure you don't want to borrow someone else's gadgets & use them. It's always advised to use your own mobile phone to make contact with your loved ones. Same way don't give your gadgets to someone unknown & even if you do make sure to wipe it with sanitizer.


8. Water bottle

Carrying your own water is always beneficial regardless of what's happening in the world. It not necessary that always you might find a reliable water source or a place where you can buy your bottled water. Having your own water bottle filled with nice clean water can come in handy.
