1. Anjuna is situated in Bardez taluka in North Goa. The word Anjuna comes from an Arabic word for change, as people arriving at Anjuna from the sea were looking to exchange money.

Attractions close to Anjuna beach include Anjuna's flea market and Chapora Fort.

Every Wednesday and Saturday, Anjuna hosts the famous market. On Wednesdays, it's day market and on Saturdays, it's night market.


2. Baga is a seaside town in Bardez, Goa. It is known for its popular beach and Baga Creek.

Baga Beach is a popular beach and tourist destination. The beach contains rows of shacks and fishing boats. Baga Beach is also famous for water sports, such as parasailing, water scooter rides, and banana rides.


3. Calangute in North Goa is famous for its beach. The beach is the largest in North Goa. It offers water sport activities like parasailing and water skiing. There are many inns and shops selling a variety of goods. Calangute is also well known for secondary schools.


4. Candolim beach begins at Fort Aguada and merges with Calangute beach. It is one of the longest beaches in Goa. This beach is very calm. The tourists come here to take a break. Candolim-Calangute Road is packed with shops and restaurants.


5. Fort Aguada, built on the mouth of Mandovi river, is a well-preserved 17th-century Portuguese fort. A freshwater spring within the fort provided water supply to the ships. Aguada, meaning watery in the Portuguese language. On the fort stands a four-story Portuguese lighthouse, which is the oldest of its kind.


6. Mapusa, in North Goa, is located on the main highway NH-17, linking Mumbai to Kochi. The name Mapusa is derived from the Konkani word for a 'measure' - 'maap' and the phrase fill up - 'sa'. Mapusa has thus remained a prominent market center for many centuries.

Mapusa comes alive on Friday. The Church of Our Lady of Miracles and the Maruti Temple are other tourist attractions.


7. Panaji is the capital of Goa. It lies on the banks of river Mandovi. It is Goa's largest city, well-known for churches, market, seven km riverside promenade, and our Lady of the Immaculate Church. Other tourist attractions include the Adilshahi Palace, the Mahalaxmi Temple, the Jama Masjid Mosque, the Chapel of St. Sebastian. Panjim has the relics of Saint Don Bosco. The carnival celebrations is hosted in February. Panjim has a number of casinos.


8. Dona Paula is named after a young girl, the daughter of Portuguese Viceroy Dona Paula de Menezes. This young girl fell in love with a local Goan fisherman. Dona Paula was forbidden from meeting her lover. She couldn't think of her life without her love. Her sorrow was unbearable and she decided to give up her life by jumping in the sea. The father was overwhelmed with grief. This place is a tribute to an eternal romance and love.
