With numerous calming beaches, lush green hills and a soothing atmosphere, Virar is a coastal town blessed with natural beauty. Virar is very famous for the Tungareshwar park, the Jivdani Temple and its forts. However, we want you to know some offbeat things to do in Virar.
Here’s a list for you:
1. Surfing
Mumbai Surf Club at Rajodi beach, Virar, is a great club to join if you’re interested in experiencing something as cool as surfing on the ocean waves. The club offers fun activities such as surfing, skateboarding and making wholesome memories
2. Boat ride
Virar is surrounded by the Arabian Sea and many small islands which makes it an ideal place for a boat ride. There are many organisations that offer boat rides at reasonable prices. One can go to the Arnala fishing village to access the fishermen’s boats.
If you are lucky you may find speed boats on weekends. Sadly there are not contact details for us to share.
3. Jivdani Train
While on your way to the holy Jivdani Temple, you can enjoy an exciting funicular train ride. This train starts from Virar railway station. It takes around 15 minutes to reach the temple and runs on a single track that gives a scenic view of the area. You can enjoy a chill and breezy ride on the hill.
4. Cycling
Many cycling groups such as ‘Beach Pedals’ and many others go around exploring the beauty of Virar. Most of the time, they set out in the morning and enjoy the beautiful sunshine and the refreshing sunrise. This is a fun experience that you must not miss.
